- Parent department: the Department of Space (DoS), which functions directly under the Prime Minister. The Chairman of ISRO is also the Secretary, Department of Space — in 2026 this is Dr V. Narayanan.
- Key centres to remember:
- VSSC (Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre), Thiruvananthapuram — the lead centre for launch vehicles (rockets such as PSLV, GSLV/LVM3).
- SDSC SHAR (Satish Dhawan Space Centre), Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh — India's spaceport / launch site.

- Chandrayaan-3 (2023): India's third lunar mission.
