The Army Cadet College route to becoming an officer
ACC is the bridge that turns experienced soldiers into commissioned officers of the Indian Army.
Who it is for
Serving soldiers of the Army, Navy and Air Force with a minimum of two years of service, a clean record and a Commanding Officer's recommendation.
Age & chances
Broadly 20–27 years, with up to three chances. Both married and unmarried personnel are eligible. Always confirm exact limits in the current notification.
Qualification
10+2 (or equivalent). The written paper tests English, General Knowledge and Mathematics at a level a focused soldier can master with the right guidance.
After selection
Three years of training at the ACC Wing, IMA Dehradun, followed by one year of pre-commission training at the Indian Military Academy — then a commission as an officer.
