Assistant Commandant — a Group A Gazetted Officer
The Assistant Commandant is the entry-level officer rank in the Indian Coast Guard, an armed force of the Union under the Ministry of Defence.
Eligibility
A Bachelor's degree (about 60%). The General Duty branch additionally needs Maths and Physics at 10+2 (about 55%). Technical, Law and CPL-SSA branches have their own degree requirements.
Age
Roughly 21–25 years for GD and Technical branches (wider for Law and CPL), with category relaxations. Always verify the exact band in the live advertisement.
