Aviation Safety: How India Investigates an Air Incident — A CDS/OTA Governance Explainer

On 9 August 2026, the Ministry of Civil Aviation reported two aviation occurrences: a sudden loss of altitude of about 300 feet during cruise on an Air India A320 operating from Phuket to Delhi, in which some passengers and cabin crew were injured before the aircraft stabilised and landed safely; and a runway excursion involving a Cessna C172 trainer at Baramati airfield, Maharashtra.
